Audio Techniques - Week 4
30/07/2019
I got signed off to use Zoom sound recorders, which I will need to complete my assessments. It was interesting to learn properly and found that I have a mini-dead cat over the stereo part if I am recording sound outside and that to keep the sound level between -18 to -12, or -6 at the very most.Going over -6 or zero will cause clipping. If you have the sound recorded under -18 and if you try to boost the sound on the computer, you will get a lot of sound noise from the background, which is what you don't want to have.
Hold down the number of the audio output until the wee light goes orange to hear what that output is receiving. Press again to bring back to normal and the wee light will go green.
