BVA603 - Week 8
27/08/2019
My mind is at a slow rate today. The idea of a structured report was terrifying at first, but then come to realise that it's essentially like what we did for our dissertation. It helps justifying what we are doing and if we were to apply for government funding or corporate sponsorship in the real world.
We all read a document individually on evaluating arts projects, specifically a section on planning evaluation. From reading that section, it reminded me of applying for funding to Creative New Zealand. It has similar fundamentals.

Subcommittee meeting
Within our subcommittee, we decided that we should re-use the Think and Create social media accounts from last year, rather than re-using the Q&A event social media accounts or create a new social media accounts. We also talked things to do with the timeline that we have and debated when would be the best time to approach the local media (radio, newspapers) about promoting Think & Create. I suggested for us to talk to local business about them having Think & Create event poster up including Liz's Craig office.
We had also decided to meet up again to develop and discuss about our objectives for next week and our marketing plan on Friday

Committee meeting
Jacqui gave us some strict deadline for certain things that we were already getting right into like sorting out the social media accounts. I was made chairperson of the marketing team, whereas Bo was made the secretary / notetaker of the marketing team (because I didn't want to take notes in the meetings and I blank out half the time and can have difficulty keeping up in discussions while writing or typing them down).
We also decided to all be page admins for the Facebook page and let Luqman do what is needed with the Instagram account. There might also be a YouTube account already made as well from last year.

30/08/2019
We came together for a meeting on sorting out our marketing plan. We came with some interesting ideas including having social media posts on BTS from last year's Think and Create and doing interviews past winners and participants of the event.
I notified the group that I told Liz Craig's office (local Labour MP) about the event and they're more than happy to have posters up in their office, promoting this years' Think & Create, which is good because Liz Craig might potentially be one of our invited VIPS at the event.
Bo assured us (being the marketing team's notetaker) that the minutes would be collated together into a document by the end of the weekend.
