The purpose of this article is to inform. The author is Irra Lee, she is a digital producer for 1 News and has written many article for the 1 News website, including news related to covid-19, culture, local issues in Auckland, and so on. She is a recent journalism graduate from AUT, receiving a Bachelor of Communications. She claims to have a background in graphic design, videography, photography, and public relations, and has also been a press gallery reporter for New Zealand Youth Parliament. Her interest in climate activism is the closes thing to her having expertise in this case.

I cannot tell if she has been referenced by others and she is somewhat new to journalism. Her writing seems to be factual and informative as much as any media outlet allows. The same goes for her spelling and grammar. This article comes from the web version of the New Zealand television news programme, 1 News, and was published on May 9, 2020, which makes it recent enough not to be outdated.

It references different types of recent sources like a social media post, an online petition, and an article form Time Magazine (published a month earlier), but however these are references to give context to the article. This article is also credited as an original source.

The author seems to blend in her liberal and idealistic bias for a fact-based bias, but she works 1 News, which is operated by the state-owned broadcaster, TVNZ. Despite the state being a centre-left wing government, their viewpoint doesn't seem to directly interfere with the integrity of the article. The article is overall one-sided, but it does include two sides on the subject of online activism.

The objective of this article looks to be to make their televised news accessible in a convenient format for those who don't watch the news and instead read about it online. Being an original and recent source, there is no telling that it can be confirmed by another source. The article does not include a bibliography or reference list, which is common for article released by media outlets as it is targeted more to everyday people than academics.

I do believe that this article is reliable because of the integrity of the author and the source of the article being credited as original.

The purpose of this article is to inform like any other online newspaper article. The author of this article is Molly Houseman, she is a reporter for the Otago Daily Times and has written many articles for her employer on subjects like local issues in Dunedin, crime, local government, and so on. I could not find any article of hers outside of the Otago Daily Times. There is no information that indicates that Houseman is an expert on either climate activism or climate change. Her articles has been referenced by Radio New Zealand, Evening Report NZ, and Newsroom NZ.

Houseman's writing style looks factual and informative to me with no sign of spelling and/or grammar errors. Her article published online for the Otago Daily Times website and was published on May 16, 2020. Aside from the images and quotes included, Houseman does not reference anyone else or other sources. I would say this article is up to date within reason and that their employer doesn't particularly promote a viewpoint or have a viewpoint that influenced the article's integrity. However, the article is one-sided.

The Otago Daily Times is part of a bigger media company, Allied Press, which operates many other newspapers up and down New Zealand, as well as OTD's regional TV, Channel 39. The objective of this article is to inform the local readership the climate activists side of the story and to be understanding about them. There is no information that indicates that Houseman is involved am organisation other than her employer and I cannot verify this information anywhere else since this is a local story. Like many other online news articles, there are no reference list or bibliography.

I would say that this article is reliable based on the integrity of the publisher.

I reminded the groups, especially the design team about the sandwich boards at the RAW Gallery that could be used to promote the exhibition There was confusion over submitting prints to be printed for our exhibition. I wasn't sure where to send it to for printing, to Rachel (like the L7 animation students) or James. I did however send the TIFFs of my prints to James just in case. Rachel informed us about placing our prints on foam core, it's a type of foam board that also sticks to the wall. There is a catch though, we have to cut them and stick our print(s) to the foam core ourselves. I gotta say that a print looks better on foam core than on its own. Digital Video - Lockdown Week 4

15/04/2020 I heard back from James and gave his advice on my concerns, which is that I look for images and footage of the climate strike by school student and use that as B-roll.  B-roll is not always meant to be of a good quality. I may research into potential ethical considerations on consent for using other people's work.  James reckons I will be fine with going ahead with this as long as I focus on what the subject is about and interviews with key players. I could use their work and have interviews in voice-over, however I will consult with the course outline to double check what is required of me to do for my film project. He also reckons my main concern is not being able to film climate strikes, which was only part of the problem. However, the B-roll could still convey drama and urgency depending on its content. BVA703 Research - Lockdown Week 3

10/04/2020 At midnight brushing my teeth, I suddenly came up with options to capture amongst the crowd stuff to convey urgency of my subject, what if it could achieved with green screen or animation.  Green screen would be a big undertaking and would require each person being filmed individually with a long lens, which would be potentially too consuming on time and resources. A long lens would be necessary to feed into post-COVID-19 health and safety. Animation would require at least one animator depending on the time needed to animate sequences needed. The sequence would ideally be in a sketchy style similar to  Stay Close  or  Dear Basketball .  I would need to think carefully about this since it would need to not disrupt the style and tone of the live-action parts.
