Methodology
Documentary film as a means of inquiry, which consists of contacting people, producing an AV script, the chance of less predictable outcomes, ethical considerations (legalities like paperwork, risk assessment, release forms, and permission to use third party material), Contacting relevant contacts to cast as interview subjects, and research current events to inform my questions

Rationale
Covid-19 has affected many sectors like screen media and there is a chance that people in the film industry and future generations would want to be well-informed on the extent of covid-19 and its effect on the film industry.
The school climate strike movement is another current events subject worthy of documenting for the world to see in the form of a short documentary film and for future generations. These are both things that are happening in recent times, in the world around us and visual media, including film, are usually obligated to reflect on the world and society as we know it.


Definitions

Covid-19
It is a recent form of coronavirus originated from China that infests our lungs and airways, and has produced a worldwide pandemic (Ministry of Health, n.d.)

School climate strike movement
This is an international youth movement originated in Europe by teen activist, Greta Thunberg. School students rather than going to school, they take action and go on strike about the climate crisis the world is now facing (School Strike 4 Climate Action NZ, n.d.).

I looked back at my blogs to find documented changes towards my project since the last research mapping to include my critique. I will then continue to develop my arguments and watch some short films of Greta Thunberg that I found on YouTube, which I think might be valuable to my research. Also read that source from Duncan

I read the link that Duncan sent and the pinning method seems simple enough. It just allows the screen to stay on the interview and not for it to keep coming back to the interviewer when the interviewer is speaking. It also will save time editing when those cuts would happen.
I need to experiment with it to see how it works, I just need someone from course to help me. 
I might bring it up at the critique next week.

There have been small online business that have taken advantage of the opportunity to grow amidst covid-19 because they run services that offer remote filming. They have also acknowledged financial benefits in their services too and how it can benefit their clients and/or filmmakers.

A New York film production business, Hayden5 quickly adapted to focusing on offering remote filming to suit covid-19 lockdown, which saved the business from plummeting into bankruptcy and saw a massive increase in their revenue. Their remote filming kit included a cart with a high quality camera, lighting, laptop, and other important accessories. The gear is sterilized, pre-assembled and ready for their customer, but the customer must sterilized all the gear before returning them all.

Hayden5 have reported to have deployed more than 100 remote filming kits

There have also reportedly been advertisers that have had to resort to using stock footage, animation, and webcam and phone footage for their content creation during this difficult time.

Methods to shooting amidst covid-19

Zoom is a suitable option, but good quality internet is recommended for this option

Record video through your phone or computer's camera

Have someone film you doing an online interview

This source goes on for a bit, but it's restricted and suited to a more subjective and personal form of remote filming and not in the way, I'm aiming for to produce my documentary

Remote filming productions have been a godsend to film productions that usually require international travel and the internet can connect and communicate people, no matter where you are in the world, whether you are in Sweden, the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand, India, Russia, and so on. They also have the opportunity to see and experience footage being recorded in real-time through remote filming.

Despite being a daunting approach to filmmaking and an option very little production companies and agencies, it's believe that it work with the right qualities of communication and internet. The likelihood of remote filming being successful can be determined whether your internet provider is reliable enough.

A film production company based in Ukraine, Radioaktive Film has been optimistic about remote filming and its potential. They also use an app to assist with every aspect of production in connect with remote filming. The co-founder has been quoted as stating...

 “We would use a combination of Zoom and Skype for pre-production, and the Qtake and GoPro cameras for the shoot. We would do all the casting and pre productions on Zoom and on set we would use Qtake to show the playback and GoPro set ups to shoot creative areas such as makeup, wardrobe and art for approvals. We also set up a separate camera for clients to speak more discreetly with agencies or directors without being broadcasted to the entire team”.

Come to think of it, this type of research is more about informing the content of my project and won't likely be applied to my project. 
I will still stop here for now and consult with Kathryn before going any further

I did manage to compile the second critique presentation that is needed to be submitted tomorrow afternoon.

22/06/2020 'Buffering' Exhibition We forgot about having the exhibition map done and sent to Kathryn last Friday. We will keep that in mind for our next exhibition. I reminded the groups, especially the design team about the sandwich boards at the RAW Gallery that could be used to promote the exhibition There was confusion over submitting prints to be printed for our exhibition. I wasn't sure where to send it to for printing, to Rachel (like the L7 animation students) or James. I did however send the TIFFs of my prints to James just in case. Rachel informed us about placing our prints on foam core, it's a type of foam board that also sticks to the wall. There is a catch though, we have to cut them and stick our print(s) to the foam core ourselves. I gotta say that a print looks better on foam core than on its own. Rachel also warned us to have confidence while cutting the foam core or otherwise the edge will look uneven and rough. This will be quite challenging ...

Digital Video - Lockdown Week 4

15/04/2020 I heard back from James and gave his advice on my concerns, which is that I look for images and footage of the climate strike by school student and use that as B-roll.  B-roll is not always meant to be of a good quality. I may research into potential ethical considerations on consent for using other people's work.  James reckons I will be fine with going ahead with this as long as I focus on what the subject is about and interviews with key players. I could use their work and have interviews in voice-over, however I will consult with the course outline to double check what is required of me to do for my film project. He also reckons my main concern is not being able to film climate strikes, which was only part of the problem. However, the B-roll could still convey drama and urgency depending on its content. BVA703 Research - Lockdown Week 3

10/04/2020 At midnight brushing my teeth, I suddenly came up with options to capture amongst the crowd stuff to convey urgency of my subject, what if it could achieved with green screen or animation.  Green screen would be a big undertaking and would require each person being filmed individually with a long lens, which would be potentially too consuming on time and resources. A long lens would be necessary to feed into post-COVID-19 health and safety. Animation would require at least one animator depending on the time needed to animate sequences needed. The sequence would ideally be in a sketchy style similar to  Stay Close  or  Dear Basketball .  I would need to think carefully about this since it would need to not disrupt the style and tone of the live-action parts.
